Hi! I’m Alyssa Sumption, the creator and CEO behind Social Assumptions. I’m a West Michigan native, based in Grand Rapids, with a background in organic social media marketing and content creation. My goal during event or wedding content creation is to capture the day raw on IPhone video. That way you can post it later on social media, or just watch back on your wedding day forever!

FAQs

Will you work alongside my photographer and videographer?

Yes! We complement their work by capturing moments they don’t always get—like getting ready details, guest reactions, and the small in-between interactions.

Do you post the content, or do I?

I will post a summary video after the event. Then, I will wait a couple of weeks to give couples the opportunity to post everything first. After a couple of weeks, I might use some content to promote my business.

How is this different from a photographer or videographer?

Photographers and videographers create professional, edited keepsakes. Content creators focus on raw, in-the-moment clips and trending formats for TikTok, Reels, and stories. Or just to keep in your phone’s camera roll.

Can I request specific shots or trends?

Absolutely. We’ll go over a shot list or trending audio you love, and make sure it’s captured.

How do you ensure you don’t get in the way of other vendors?

I work discreetly with small equipment (just a phone/tripod) and coordinate with your team ahead of time to make sure we blend seamlessly.

How do I get the content?

I upload everything to a OneDrive folder during breaks in the events. I will share the folder with you before the weekend and will organize it for easy downloading.

Do you attend the entire wedding day?

That depends on your package—some include full-day coverage (from getting ready to the send-off), if you select a smaller package, we can adjust my start time to your schedule.

Do I have to pay for everything now?

Nope! All you need is $250 deposit to secure your date. The rest is due the day of the wedding.
